The LoneTones: News

Knoxville News Sentinel Compilation CD - April 30, 2007

We're excited to have our song "The Soil We Grew Up In" included on the News Sentinel's new local music CD. There are a bunch of other fine artists on the CD picked from the amazing talent that Knoxville has to offer. You can apparently pick them up for free at Sundown In The City. Backhills Cafe and Pickin' Parlor - January 29, 2007

On January 13 we played a show at a quirky little venue down in Maryville called the Backhills Cafe and Pickin' Parlor. We were thrilled by the full house and the great group of folks who came out to see us. To read more about the venue and a little about the show click here.

WDVX Camperfest - May 31, 2006

Once again, the WDVX Camperfest was great. The sound was superb, the crowd was appreciative and the other bands were more than worth the trip. Phil made the rounds as usual, playing not just with the LoneTones, but also with the Bearded, subbing in with Christabel and the Jons and sitting in with Jeff Barbra and Sarah Pirkle. (Watch for his Band of Humans at Bonaroo.)

Vestival '06 - May 16, 2006

Once again the Vestival was a great time. We played early on to an appreciative crowd. The weather was beautiful and the eclectic mix of bands offered something for everyone. It was fun to see some of the regulars who have been with the festival since the beginning such as the enigmatic Breakfast Meats and the meditative South Knoxville Persian Music Ensemble. Greg Horne's strong instrumental chops and fantastic original and traditional tunes just keep getting better. Kyle Campbell did an outstanding job fronting the paired-down Bearded. Clem and Pam Small treated us to some cowboy tunes and other old country. Jim Myers fine bluesy guitar work and singing kept everyone's toes tapping. I missed most of the others along the way, but heard good reports. The festival was rounded out with the new addition of one of my long-time favorite band's Exit 65. And the ever-surprising and truly talented Todd Steed finished out the day. Finally, as usual, the vendors provided tasty food and many Mother's Day gifts to be found. Hope to see you there next year. -Sean

We're Working On Our CD - April 16, 2006

We're taking a little break in April from performing as we work on our new CD. Hopefully we'll have it out sometime this summer or early fall.

Riverdale School Concert - April 10, 2006

We played a fun house concert at the old Riverdale School (somebody does live there, so I guess it's a house). We actually played in the old gym on the stage. It sounded great for a gym with the old wood floor and the 100 or so folks who came making it warm. Good potluck, great people, hope to do it again some day. Thanks to all who came and to our gracious hosts.
